Clariant relocates Air Purification catalyst production to Louisville Kentucky

  • Multi-million-dollar expansion of Louisville, Kentucky facility
  • Manufacturing to be in close proximity to R&D
  • Production begins in October 2015
Charlotte, November 19, 2015 – Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, today announced the relocation of its Air Purification Catalyst production from Needham, Massachusetts to Louisville, Kentucky.

Sustainability is a core element of Clariant's business strategy, and Clariant is committed to creating products that can help our environment. Through its Air Purification Market Segment, which focuses on reducing or eliminating harmful industrial emissions, Clariant has products that mitigate the effects of pollutants: for example, the installed volume of its line of EnviCat®-N2O catalysts is reducing N2O by the equivalent of what 4-million automobiles emit in CO2 annually.

To further strengthen its position in the market, Clariant is relocating its Air Purification Catalyst production from Needham, Massachusetts to Louisville, Kentucky and will focus on developing and innovating new solutions in the Air Purification Catalyst business. As part of the expansion of its Louisville facility, Clariant is focusing its efforts to bring its Research and Development efforts closer to manufacturing. This is part of the long-term plan to make Louisville a center of catalyst excellence.

This move further strengthens Clariant's ability to meet customer needs, while taking advantage of economies of services and scope to better serve its customers. Additionally, the move creates synergies that will allow Clariant to provide its customers ease of access to catalyst solutions from air purification catalysts to zeolite powder-based technologies and process catalysts.

Production of Air Purification catalysts in Louisville began in October, 2015.
