Clariant Announces Retirement of North America Region Head and Names Replacement

Charlotte, June 1, 2017 – Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, announces the retirement of Ken Golder, who serves as North America Region Head as well as president and chief executive officer of both Clariant Corporation and Clariant Canada Inc. He has been instrumental in implementing and leading Clariant's growth strategy in North America. Golder will retire June 30, having served 18 of his 35 years with Clariant as North America Region Head.

Effective July 1, Deepak Parikh will become Region President for Clariant's North America operations as well as chief executive officer of both Clariant Corporation and Clariant Canada Inc. Parikh, a U.S. citizen, recently served as Clariant's Region President for India as well as vice chairman and managing director of Clariant Chemicals (India) Limited. During the previous two decades, he worked with DuPont and the Dow Chemical Company in the USA and Asia where he held various global and regional leadership roles with demonstrated success in mergers and acquisitions, integration, transformational leadership and visionary change management.

Parikh studied chemical engineering at Bombay University (UICT) and earned a Ph.D. in engineering from University of Tennessee and a Ph.D. in materials science and engineering from University of Utah. He holds 45 U.S. patents.
