Wax additives for protecting coated packaging


Our wax additives for packaging coatings strengthen the protection of surfaces that have to be tough and wear-resistant. They help to preserve the attractive appearance of metal packaging, such as food and beverage cans or metal personal care containers. They can also be used to enhance the coatings of other packaging substrates, such as paper- or plastics-based materials.

Our Ceridust® waxes are not just highly effective at making metal coatings more resistant to scratches and marks but also aid in keeping freshly coated metal sheets from blocking – a common problem during production. We offer PTFE-free solutions with comparable performance to conventional PTFE/PE micronized wax products. In paper coatings, our products can serve to enhance crucial properties like barrier effect, slip, and abrasion resistance.

  • Ceridust® 3716

    Ceridust 3716 is a micronized, polar modified polyethylene wax.

  • Ceridust® 3920 F

    A micronized, polytetrafluoroethylene modified synthetic wax blend showing excellent scratch resistance, slip performance, and anti-blocking properties. Ceridust 3920 F protect coated finishes from damages and maintains the desired surface appearance of printing inks, wood coatings and powder coatings. In can and coil coatings, it furthermore improves the abrasion resistance and minimizes metal markings.

  • Ceridust® 8330

    Renewable polymer/wax compound suitable for both water and solvent based coatings and inks.Ceridust 8330 is a revolutionary, predominantly bio-based additive for all kind of printing inks with a mean particle size diameter of approximately 5.5 μm. Its mix of flexible yet tough polymeric characteristics makes it a powerful rub resistance additive for all types of ink systems. It is easy dispersible in water and solvent-based system with superior rub resistance properties versus conventional wax-based products. The outstanding rub resistance of Ceridust 8330 can even enable the substitution or reduction of PTFE in ink and coting systems.By this differentiated biopolymer-based micronized wax, wax dosage reduction of 30 % – 50 % is possible in gravure and flexographic inks to achieve the same rub resistance performance.

  • Ceridust® 9610 F

    Micronized, polytetrafluoroethylene modified polyethylene wax recommended for solvent based coatings and inks. It is also very effective in powder coating applications.Ceridust 9610 F is a slip and rub resistance additive especially for solvent and pasty printing ink systems. In solvent based coatings the micronized wax compound performs as scratch resistance additive and lowers the coefficient of friction (slip effect). Ceridust 9610 F furthermore improves the abrasion resistance and minimizes metal markings. In powder coatings it is a very effective scratch and abrasion resistance additive which can be easily dispersed.
