For metal surfaces that have to be particularly tough, powder coatings are often used (which also do not require solvents and thus have the further advantage of not emitting volatile organic compounds). Clariant provides powerful additive solutions to make sure these coatings stay tough, even if the going gets rough! They are usable for a broad range of powder resins, such as polyester or polyester/epoxy binders and usable with Primid® products. The additives comprise not only light stabilizer solutions, but also antioxidants, thus preventing gas fading and thermal yellowing of powder coatings.

AddWorks® IBC 251

Light Stabilizer Heat/Thermal Stabilizer
AddWorks® IBC 251 is a tribo charging additive, designed to enhance the application of powder coatings by the tribo-static process. It is particularly suitable for a broad range of powder resins, such as polyester resin or polyester/epoxy binders. Its high loading capability of electrostatic charges allows an efficient tribo-chargeability of the powder. In addition, it provides heat resistance stability and a light stabilization effect as well as gas fading resistance, making it a multi-functional solution that addresses the challenges of the tribo-charging spray process, the curing step and the coating performance during its service life. more

Hostavin® 3051 P

Light Stabilizer
Hostavin® 3051 P is a low molecular weight HALS (radical scavenger) ideal for tribo charging, characterized by its low volatility and good migration properties and enhanced tribo effect for powder coatings. It can be used in polyester and hybrid resins and provides gas fading resistance as well as heat stability to the powder coatings. more

Hostavin® 3070 P

Light Stabilizer Heat/Thermal Stabilizer
Hostavin® 3070 P is an oligomeric HALS (radical scavenger), designed for light stabilization of plastic materials, paints and clearcoats. It is characterized by its broad compatibility and excellent resistance to migration and outstanding solubility in solventborne coatings. As an oligomeric heat stabilizer, it is especially recommended for all kind of high performance coatings, such as automotive clearcoats and powder coatings for architectural purposes. more
