With our Licowax® and Licocene® polymeric waxes, we offer resin manufacturers excellent additives for improving the melt and flow characteristics of their polymers. Our saponified Licomont® montan waxes are a popular choice for nucleating polyamides and polyesters to speed up cycle times. Similarly, our specialty Ceridust® grades can serve as gas cell nucleators in specialty foams when discrete cell structure and faster hardening times are needed.

In compounding, our advanced wax additives add value to all kinds of plastic compounds. How our waxes help to jazz up the energy profiles of houses and cars

Proper thermal insulation is one of the most effective ways to reduce the energy needs of buildings and shrink their carbon footprint. Our high-performing gas cell nucleating agents for insulating materials such as expanded polystyrene (EPS) support this vital strategy.

To reduce fuel consumption and give e-cars greater range, the automotive industry is increasingly making vehicles lighter by replacing their metal parts with plastics. To be used on exteriors or under the hood, these often must be reinforced with fibers or fillers. With our special compatibilizers and coupling agents from the Licocene® range, we make it easier to incorporate property-enhancing materials into polypropylene (PP) and to give it the desired mechanical characteristics.

IN DEMOLDING PLASTICS

By acting as an external lubricating layer between the polymer and the hot metal surfaces of molds, wax reduces the demolding force needed to release injection-molded parts. This leads to fewer stuck parts, less scrap, less downtime and faster cycle times. On the whole, the result can be significantly lower molding costs.

  • Ceridust® 3910

    Micronized amide wax for solvent and water-based coatings, powder coatings, and printing inks. It can also be used in plastic application as dispersion and lubricating agent.For liquid coatings and inks, Ceridust 3910 offers excellent anti-blocking and slip properties, water repellency effect, and enhances scratch resistance, with minimal impact of transparency. This can be used in can coating application as meat releasing agent. In powder coatings, Ceridust 3910 acts as an effective degassing agent and is suitable for post-blending. It also demonstrates excellent dispersion and lubricating properties in plastic application.

    Licocare RBW 300 powder VITA is a partially saponified wax based on renewable resource.

  • Licomont® CaV 102 powder

    Licomont CaV 102 powder is a calcium salt of long chain, saturated, linear carboxylic acids (montanic acids), providing excellent nucleating and lubricating effects in all kinds of injection molded polyamides. In injection molding applications of polyamides the reduction of the cycle time up to 25 % is possible. Due to the chemical nature, Licomont CaV 102 powder obtains excellent thermal stability, low volatility and color stability. Licomont CaV 102 powder does also not affect the transparency and the mechanical properties of polyamides and has no influence on polymer degradation. Licomont CaV 102 powder combines the advantages of a lubricating and nucleating agent in one product and is very effective at low concentrations (~ 0.2 – 0.5 %).
