Changes in our lifestyles mean that the global frozen food market is estimated to grow by 40% in a few years1. This makes the need for low-maintenance and cost-effective shop-floor and cold room refrigeration systems more important than ever.

Clariant’s Antifrogen solutions assist in the efficient running of high capacity refrigeration installations by protecting against metal corrosion and delivering reliable freezing protection. They perform at temperatures as low as -50°C, contributing towards effective and safe storage of frozen and chilled items, ensuring a long lifetime of the cooling system.

Our non-toxic heat transfer fluids take care of a wide variety of process cooling and chilling/freezing-related applications. You’ll find them in refrigeration systems of dairy & ice-cream factories, cold stores and fish processing factories. And as an integral cooling component in breweries, we’re pleased to also support the many brewers interested in producing their individual craft beers.

Discover the potential to be more sustainable:

  • Chilling/freezing for supermarket fridge and freezer cabinets
  • Warehouse cooling systems
  • Process cooling and temperature stability for beer brewing, flash-freezing, food production and preservation.

Products

  • Antifrogen® L

Antifrogen® L is a clear liquid, tinted blue, for use as a heat transfer medium in heat pump systems and in the food industry, e.g. in breweries, dairies, ice-cream factories, cold stores and fish processing factories. The product is inhibited without the use of nitrites-, amines-, borates-, silicates- and phosphates. The optimization of the corrosion inhibition system was performed without the use of CMR-substances (cancerogenic, mutagenic, reprotoxic). Read more about Clariant Heat Transfer Fluids more

  • Antifrogen® KF

Antifrogen KF is a non-toxic clear liquid, based on an aqueous formate solution which is used as a low-temperature brine down to -50 °C in industrial and food refrigeration systems. The brine adjusted for reliable protection against freezing is inhibited with non-toxic corrosion inhibitors and is nitrite, amine and borate-free. Read more about Clariant Heat Transfer Fluids more

  • Antifrogen® SOL HT

Antifrogen® SOL HT is a physiologically harmless, yellowish, clear liquid based on an aqueous solution of higher boiling glycols, which is used as a heat transfer medium in solar heating systems, also those exposed to high thermal loads. The product is inhibited without the use of nitrites-, borates-, silicates- and phosphates. It meets the requirements of DIN 4757, part 3, for solar heating systems. The optimization of the corrosion inhibition system was performed without the use of CMR-substances (cancerogenic, mutagenic, reprotoxic). Read more about Clariant Heat Transfer Fluids more
