Daniela, what is the main challenge of digital marketing?
That it’s evolving right now—every second. You need to be constantly up-to-date to be on top of the trends. Digital marketing fuels your creativity, allows you to globally target potential customers and lets you measure the impact of your campaigns with every interaction. We live in a digital era where the relationship between customer and company happens online—hence, companies must constantly be prepared. pic11xxl

What’s your path to success in digital marketing, Alessandro?
The key objective of my role is to improve the online presence of the Business Unit by reshaping its digital marketing strategy. Especially an industry as traditional as the chemical industry needs to understand that digital marketing has to be part of every marketing activity in order to achieve growth.

How is your role as digital marketer integrated?
Along with Daniela, we embody the team’s digital expertise. Digital marketing was once considered an added function. Now it’s what makes marketing fit with the current state of technology. Mobile, internet of things, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, even automation—regardless of industry, these technologies will have huge implications. We’re the task force that implements a digital mindset in our everyday marketing activities.

Daniela, what’s your opinion on marketing tools that provide insights into consumer behavior?
There’s a variety of tools that are critical for digital marketers and I always make sure to use them in the most effective way. Consumers demand a new experience and marketing needs to reimagine how it engages with them. So, it’s crucial to implement tools that analyze data in depth, help understand what customers need—and ultimately let us make better decisions.

So the future of marketing is data-driven?
Nowadays, data has become the most valuable currency and it helps us understand customer needs and make fact-based decisions. Every marketer needs to embrace both qualitative and quantitative »The relationship between company and customer happens online.« metrics to create a seamless customer experience and to sync all the relevant steps on the path to purchase—for individual customers and across all touchpoints.

Last but not least: Alessandro, what keeps your work and private life in balance?
I love to spend quality time with friends and family, and I travel almost every weekend. I like to feel healthy and in-shape, that’s why I often go running and hit the gym. My passions also include investments, astronomy and writing poetry. And I’d never miss out on a good movie while eating pizza!

What about you, Daniela?
My private life I spend mostly outdoors. Either on playgrounds and swimming pools with my two children, or in the dressage arena. Training or even competing with my horse helps me focus with mind and body—a total moment of Zen, which is very relaxing for me.
