A Brighter Future In Indonesia
In 2016 Clariant in Indonesia continued with a series of community programs focused on the education, safety, health and the environment of people living in the vicinity of its manufacturing plant in Tangerang. This includes education programs in collaboration with the SDN Uwung Jaya school in Tangerang.
In December 2016, schoolchildren at the school gained their first glimpse into the world of chemistry when a team of employees joined them to share knowledge of basic science and provide an interactive display of chemistry experiments.
Previous initiatives to support local communities in the area include annual scholarships granted in collaboration with the Sampoerna Foundation to 32 underprivileged and gifted children for the 2011/2012 academic year. So far via this Foundation, Clariant has awarded 134 scholarships to students at all educational levels. There is also an internship program for approximately 150 high school and university students each year.
