Supporting Students in China
In 2016, Clariant in Greater China continued its support of children in the local community through its partnership with the Zhenjiang Xuefu Road Primary School, this time donating computers, musical instruments and school equipment. In the course of the year, Clariant’s Regional Head of Greater China Jan Kreibaum visited the school to conduct English courses to students from various levels.
Clariant employees also donated their time to paint several of the school’s science classrooms together with the school’s students and teachers, using pigment products donated by Clariant’s Pigments business unit.
These activities are part of Clariant’s ‘HOPES’ program, a corporate citizenship initiative running in Clariant’s Greater China region and focusing on supporting sustainable development of education in the local communities where the company is active. Over the years it has benefited many school children and communities. Past campaigns include school visits, school carnivals and open days conducted by volunteers recruited from Clariant’s different sites and functions in China.
