Clariant Desi Pak bentonite clay, Sorb-It silica gel, and Tri-Sorb molecular sieve desiccant packets are sized for use inside individual, properly sealed packages or containers that contain moisture-sensitive products. The packets adsorb excess moisture within the package environment, reducing relative humidity and preventing product damage during shipping and storage.

Desi Pak bentonite clay, Sorb-It silica gel, and Tri-Sorb molecular sieve desiccant packets are packaged in materials that comply with U.S. FDA (Food and Drug Administration) or EU (European Union) regulations. Also available, upon request, is Desi Pak bentonite clay desiccant that complies with U.S. Pharmacopeia USP <670> testing requirements for Auxiliary Packaging Components.

When Clariant’s desiccant packets are inserted into properly sealed product packages or containers, they help protect the contents. Even small volumes of air inside can contain significant water vapor. This water vapor can, during periods of shipment or storage, damage products and components such as electronics (surface-mount devic-es, printed circuit boards, computers, cell phones), degrade 3-D printing filaments and other polymers, and can cause metal parts for military, aerospace, or automotive appli-cations to rust or corrode.

Packages containing clothing, shoes, leather goods, and similar products may require moisture protection during shipment and storage to prevent moisture in the package air from condensing into droplets that promote mold growth and cause damaging stains. Desiccant packets also avoid damage to packaged, dehydrated foods (e.g., beef jerky, dried fruits, or chips), helping to keep them crispy and appetizing until consumption.

For health and personal care items, Clariant’s desiccant packets help to ensure the efficacy and shelf life of critical pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, health supplements, and personal care products.

Standard packet sizes are 1-, 2-, 5-, 10-, and 33-gram; contact us for additional sizes. Custom sizes may be available upon request.
