Exolit™ AP 822 (TP)
Exolit AP 822 (TP) is a non-halogenated flame retardant based on modified ammonium polyphosphate, which develops its effectiveness through phosphorus/nitrogen synergism. Exolit AP 822 (TP) differs in its mode of action from chlorine- or bromine-containing flame retardants by creating an insulating char. The flame retarded material foams in combination with nitrogen-containing blowing agents on exposure to heat. The carbon foam layer so formed protects the substrate through its heat insulating effect and reduces further oxygen access, thereby reducing heat release, flame spread and smoke release.
Informations sur le produit
- Non-halogenated, SVHC-free*) flame retardant based on ammonium polyphosphate which develops its effectiveness through phosphorus/nitrogen synergism Differs in its mode of action from chlorine- or bromine-containing flame retardants by achieving its effect through intumescence
- May be used in water-based coatings for wood or textiles
- Shows excellent compatibility with many different binder systems, in particular vinyl acetate and polyurethane dispersions
- The high compatibility leads to a lower viscosity profile and improved transparency in dedicated coating formulations, favorable to fire protection coatings for wood, MDF, chipboards, plywood and veneered wood
*) according to Article 31 of the REACH Regulation (Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006
Hazards
The product does not require a hazard warning label according CLP regulation (Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008, as amended).
