Brake fluids

All Clariant brake fluids meet and exceed all relevant worldwide specifications such as SAE J 1703, SAE J 1704, FMVSS 116 and DIN ISO 4925. OEM requirements set the bar even higher and go beyond these industry standards. Clariant is proud to be approved by various international OEMs. Clariant’s brake fluids are ultimate in quality and reliability.

We have more than 50 years experience supplying OEM and Aftermarket customers. Above all, our facility is IATF 16949 certified.

Clariant produces and markets the complete range of brake fluids: DOT 3, DOT 4, and DOT 5.1.

    Safebrake® 3 M (DOT 3) is based on glycols, glycol ethers, anticorrosion additives, and antioxidants.

    Safebrake® Life is based on glycol ethers, anti-corrosion additives, and anti-oxidants. It is classified as non-hazardous, while maintaining a high performance. It is our contribution for safe handling and filling of brake fluids in professional use and for end-consumers. The product complies with all specification requirements of the current version of the FMVSS No. 116 (DOT 4), ISO 4925 (class4) and SAE J 1703.

    Safebrake® DOT 4 is based on glycols, glycol ethers, the corresponding borates, anti-corrosion additives, and anti-oxidants. The borate ester functions as a water sponge and increases the wet boiling point.

The fluid is characterized by an extreme low-temperature viscosity, whereby a faster responding time of approx. 30% of the individual brake discs at low temperatures is guaranteed.As one of a few brake fluids world-wide, Safebrake 16 M exceeds the strong requirements of the standard ISO 4925, Class 6.
