Ultra-selective oxidation catalyst for acetylene and simultaneous oxygen removal in EDHOX™ processes

OxyMax™ 288

OxyMax™ 288 is a highly selective oxidation catalyst especially developed for the simultaneous reduction of acetylene and oxygen in the Gas-Clean-Up Reactor (GCU) of Linde's EDHOX™ process to concentration levels below the target ppm-range design levels.

It is a supported mixed metal oxide catalyst based on multiple metal components. The unique combination of these metal oxides and the catalyst's production process leads to the catalyst's superior selectivity that accomplishes two opposing tasks simultaneously: the near-complete conversion of acetylene through oxidation while reducing oxygen to very low levels. Conventional oxidation catalysts typically require additional oxygen dosing to reach target acetylene concentrations and tend to combust valuable ethylene until all oxygen is consumed.
