Innovative formulation design

We offer comprehensive formulation capabilities for different formulation types. Our analytical methods support optimization of formulation stability, including rheology, sedimentation, stability, shelf life, and dispersion. Our expertise extends to dispersant optimization and high-throughput experimentation for both conventional chemical pesticides and microbial-based biological formulations.

Advanced application testing

Our state-of-the-art testing methods simulate ground and aerial spraying to assess the quality and properties of standard and low-volume applications. Variables, such as nozzle type, flow rate, speed, and pressure, can be adjusted to maximize on-target spraying, efficiency, and bio-efficacy. A laser diffraction particle sizer in our spray chamber enables quick evaluation of spray drift adjuvants to allow rapid prototyping and commercialization.

Tailored adjuvant development

Our expert teams and fully automated and miniaturized cuticular penetration tests allow Clariant to develop and select the best adjuvants for each requirement. Clariant’s customization concept involves pre-selection of adjuvant systems for early-stage development, assessment of formulations for improved uptake, and formulation optimization, including simultaneous evaluation of multiple active ingredients.

Our high-tech research greenhouse allows detailed study of crop protection products as well as plant and soil health solutions. We assess interactions across a broad spectrum of climate conditions, from those found in tropical to temperate regions.
