HVAC

Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems are the backbone of creating a comfortable environment in commercial and residential buildings, from shopping and leisure centers to hospitals, warehouses, and apartments

Today, with the growing demand for smart homes and the development of smart cities, they play an even greater role by supporting energy-efficient heating and cooling and the use of renewable energies.

Making a small investment into the right heat transfer fluid represents a big difference to ensuring long and trouble-free usage of your capital-intensive installation.

With Antifrogen® grades you are on the safe side.

Since no two applications or operating conditions are the same, Clariant offers a selection of glycol-based Antifrogen fluids that provide superior protection against corrosion and limescale deposits, as well as long-term frost protection down to minus 50°C.

Monoethylene glycol-based (MEG) fluids are the preferred option when maximum heat transfer properties and lower cost are crucial. For applications that require a low toxicity profile, our higher-boiling-glycol or monopropylene glycol-based (MPG) fluids are an option. In addition, we offer a glycol-free anti-corrosive concentrate to inhibit the corrosion of water when no antifreeze is required.

The result is an optimal performance and longevity for closed-loop water-based cooling and heating systems.

Products

  • Antifrogen® N
Antifrogen® N is a liquid, tinted pale yellow, for use as a heat transfer medium in closed hot water heating systems, heat pumps and as cooling brine in industrial refrigeration equipment. Antifrogen® N is not suitable for the use in food or pharmaceutical applications. Alternatively, the use of Antifrogen® L is recommended. The product is inhibited without the use of nitrites-, amines-, borates-, silicates- and phosphates. The optimization of the corrosion inhibition system was performed without the use of CMR-substances (cancerogenic, mutagenic, reprotoxic). • Antifrogen® L
Antifrogen® L is a clear liquid, tinted blue, for use as a heat transfer medium in heat pump systems and in the food industry, e.g. in breweries, dairies, ice-cream factories, cold stores and fish processing factories. The product is inhibited without the use of nitrites-, amines-, borates-, silicates- and phosphates. The optimization of the corrosion inhibition system was performed without the use of CMR-substances (cancerogenic, mutagenic, reprotoxic). • Antifrogen® SOL HT
Antifrogen® SOL HT is a physiologically harmless, yellowish, clear liquid based on an aqueous solution of higher boiling glycols, which is used as a heat transfer medium in solar heating systems, also those exposed to high thermal loads. The product is inhibited without the use of nitrites-, borates-, silicates- and phosphates. It meets the requirements of DIN 4757, part 3, for solar heating systems. The optimization of the corrosion inhibition system was performed without the use of CMR-substances (cancerogenic, mutagenic, reprotoxic).Read more about Clariant Heat Transfer Fluids Find a distributor

  • Protectogen® C Aqua
Protectogen® C aqua is a yellowish, water-soluble, glycol-free liquid which contains a highly efficient combination of corrosion inhibitors. The product is inhibited without the use of nitrite, amine, borate, phosphate, and silicate. The optimization of the corrosion inhibition system was performed without the use of CMR-substances ( C ancerogenic M utagenic R eprotoxic). According to the formulation, Protectogen® C aqua does not contain any restricted substances as described in the EG-guideline 2011/65/EG (RoHS = Restriction of Hazardous Substances), article 4 §1 like lead, mercury, cadmium, chromate VI, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE).
