PREVENT STAINING AND GRAYING
With the products from the TexCare® series, Clariant has developed solutions which meet high sustainability standards and function in several different ways: They remove stains even at low temperatures, protect against new soiling, reduce graying and improve wearing comfort by increasing moisture absorption. The products are made of multi-functional polymers and work especially well when used for garments with a high percentage of polyester fibers.
Challenge
WASHING AT HIGH TEMPERATURES USES UP RESOURCES AND MAKES CLOTHES WEAR OUT FASTER
Soiled clothing often has to be washed at higher temperatures to come out really clean. Apart from water, this also uses up energy. An additional problem is that the mechanical stress produced by frequently washing clothes at higher temperatures makes them wear out faster. Also, particulate soils that are removed from the fabric during the wash can be redeposited on the fabric and cause graying of white garments.

Solution
Protective layer increases with every wash and keeps dirt from being redeposited
During the washing process, the TexCare® molecules attach to the similarly structured synthetic fibers. A thin film forms on the garment, which remains in place even after washing and drying and prevents stains from penetrating deep into the fabric.
During the next wash, surfactants easily remove the particles of dirt resting on the film, which increases with every wash. This film repels particulate soils and traps them in the wash water, preventing their redeposition and thus the graying of light-colored garments.
Due to the hydrophilic film of TexCare® molecules, clothes also feel smoother on the skin since the fabric can absorb sweat better.
