Handling
The required quantity of Emulsogen M is stirred at room temperature with the oil to be emulsified until a homogeneous, clear concentrate is obtained. The oil/emulsifier mixture is then stirred into the required amount of water at room temperature. Stirring is stopped as soon as a uniform emulsion is obtained. Generally stirring lasts for about 5 minutes at a stirring speed of approximately 300-500 revolutions/min.

Any creaming up which may occur after prolonged standing can be easily overcome by stirring.
Applications
Emulsogen M possesses excellent emulsifying properties for mineral oils. Very stable emulsions of mineral oils are obtained with as little as 10-12 % emulsifier, calculated on the quantity of oil to be emulsified. The water used may be soft or very hard without impairing the stability of the emulsion in any way. If 12 % Emulsogen M are used, the emulsions are also largely resistant to electrolytes and mineral acids.
