Polyglykol Methylether
Polyglykol M 500 PU
Edition Date :
August 16, 2023
Polyglykol M 500 PU is a linear, mono hydroxy-functional polyethylene glycol monomethyl ether (M-PEG) that is completely water soluble. Polyglykol M 2000 FL is esterified with methacrylic acid to yield the corresponding polyglycol mono methacrylates which are used for the polymerization of polycarboxylate superplasticizers. Polyglykol M 500 PU is produced for polyurethane applications and offers low alkali and low water content.

Applications
Polyglykol M 500 PU is the raw material for 3rd generation superplasticizers. It is used for polyurethane applicatitons due to its low alkali and low water content.
It is also used as a chemical intermediate for paint additives.

Packaging and Storage
Delivery form
Liquid
Packaging
Stainless steel or aluminium containers with external heating coil.
Storage
Polyglycols in sealed original packaging have a shelf life of 2 years if stored in a cool, dry place.
Exclusion of moisture is very important, since liquid PEGs are hygroscopic and the solid types absorb any moisture they are exposed to due to their good solubility in water. Each time the containers are opened, they should be resealed to make them airtight.
The storage temperature should not exceed 90°C. The storage tank must have a circulation loop, top to bottom, with a dry nitrogen blanket to prevent product oxidation/degration.
