Ethylene Purification Catalysts for Removal of Acetylene and Hydrogen

PolyMax™ 200 Series

PolyMax™ 200 ethylene purification catalysts are used to remove traces of acetylene (C2H2) and hydrogen (H2). In this final polishing of the polymer feedstock, the catalyst converts C2H2 and H2 to more ethylene via hydrogenation. Typically located upstream of polymerization catalysts, the ethylene purification catalysts achieve excellent product purity, with acetylene and hydrogen content below detectable limits. This greatly reduces the consumption of polymerization catalysts in downstream units.
Benefits
  • Final polishing: Purifies ethylene feed from  traces of acetylene and hydrogen
  • Reduces the consumption of polymerization catalysts
  • Extremely valuable for downstream operations
  • Product purity below the detectable limit can be achieved
