Sustainably-sourced tucuma butter from Amazon rainforest
Beraca Tucuma Butter
Edition Date :
November 10, 2023
Tucumã tree is a native tree from the Amazonian region. Its trunk is covered by large thorns. The tree produces from 2 to 3 fruit bunches annually and each one weighs between 1 and 30kg, containing 200 to 400 fruits on average.
Beraca and Clariant work with communities in the north of Brazil to collect the seeds to produce Beraca Tucumã Butter. The collection of seeds contributes to the reduction of the areas destined for manioc plantations and brings additional income to the communities, and the production is carried out based on organic agriculture practices.
