Dispersing agent

Dispersogen C 4020

Dispersogen C 4020 is a dispersing agent for inorganic pigments like titanium dioxide, calcium carbonate, talcum, China clay, iron oxide pigments, gypsum, cement and many others.

Benefits

Dispersogen C 4020 is a polymeric dispersing agent with carboxylic acid groups on the principle polymer chain and polyethylene glycol ether side chains. The anionic charges on the principle chain of Dispersogen C 4020 absorb onto inorganic pigments and provide steric stabilization due to the polyethylene glycol ether side chains. This mechanism is sometimes superior to the electrostatic stabilization of polyacrylic acid salts or copolymers of acrylic acid and e.g. maleic acid resulting in higher dispersion stability or lower dispersion viscosity. General recommendation of dosage: 1 - 5 % on inorganic pigments Dispersogen C 4020 is suitable for the following applications:

Pigment Preparations:  Dispersing agent for inorganic pigment slurries, dosage: 0,5 – 1,5% on pigments Dispersing agent for pigment pastes and preparations, dosage: 1 – 5% on pigments

Dispersion Paints:  Dispersing and wetting agent for waterborne paints & coatings, e.g. emulsion paints, silicate paints, silicon emulsion paints, polyurethane paints, dosage: 0,5 – 1,5% on pigments
