Hostagliss PA 165 is a polar polymer with multiple functional groups, exhibiting a high affinity to metal surfaces. Despite its fully saturated structure (contains no unsaturated C=C bonds) it remains liquid and pourable down to temperatures of less than -20°C. Hostagliss PA 165 has good lubricity and anti-wear properties. Therefore, it is used as a component for non-water miscible metal working fluids, such as cutting- or deep drawing oils. The pure substance DEPAL is sold as Exolit OP 1230 and in combination with synergists as Exolit OP 13xx & Exolit OP 14xx types. Hordaphos 124 is a yellowish to brown liquid with an ester-like odour. Solid particles may be precipitated at low temperatures but this process is reversible on warming. Hordaphos 124 is soluble in common organic solvents such as aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, esters and ketones. It can be emulsified with water. Hordaphos 124 is miscible with naphthenic and paraffinic mineral oils and with commercial vegetable and animal oils. In cooking, Patauá oil is mainly used in salads and fried foods as it has similar characteristics to olive oil, being highly unsaturated and rich in amino acids. The Murumuru tree is a palm tree found in the Amazon, in humid and temporarily flooded areas near rivers and lakes. It can reach up to 10m high and sometimes forms large populations. Its trunk is covered with thorns, making it more difficult and dangerous to collect the fruits. From murumuru seeds it is possible extracting about 50% of a white, odorless fat, with low rancidity levels, which allows its use in different industries.Beraca and Clariant work with communities in the north of Brazil to collect the seeds to produce Murumuru butter. The gathering of seeds, alongside government social programs, offers an alternative to logging activities and brings additional income to the communities. As a result, it helps increasing the species diversity in açaízais and increasing added valued to native species.

The cupuaçu tree is a cousin of the cocoa's tree, both belonging to the Theobroma family. Its pulp presents an acidic and sweet taste and a pleasant smell. It is largely used in natura as juice, or in food preparations. The seeds represent 20% of the fruit and from them is extracted the butter, which is rich in oleic and stearic acids.Beraca and Clariant work with communities in the north of Brazil to collect the seeds to produce Beraca Cupuaçu Butter. The cupuaçu trees are cultivated in agroforestry systems. In the past, the cupuaçu seeds had no utility and were simply discarded. Today they are upcycled into a butter that offers benefits to the personal care industry, and represent an important component of family income.

Attasorb product is a granular, thermally-activated Attapulgite designed for use mainly in agricultural sorbent applications. Babaçu oil comes from the seed of a palm tree very present in the state of Maranhão, and from the Amazon region to Bahia and Mato Grosso. It reproduces easily in areas of forest regeneration: Babaçuzais. To obtain the seeds, it is necessary to break the Babaçu coconut, which has a hard bark. Babaçu Nut Breakers are generally women (Quebradeiras) who promote an example of sustainable forest management and cooperative organization, marking women empowerment. All the tree is used, leaving no waste: the leaves are used in the roof of the houses and household items in the communities, the bark is used as charcoal and natural fertilizer, the pulp makes nutritive flour for cooking and from the seed is extracted the oil for cooking or for cosmetic products.Clariant and Beraca work closely with the communities in Brazil to sustainably produce the Beraca Babaçu Oil and offer them increased and fair revenue for collecting the nuts.

Found deep in the forest, Copaíba tree contains an aromatic balsam with several properties inside its trunk. To conserve the tree and make the oil-resin collection sustainable, unique management practices are set in place: after a long period during which the trees are evaluated to figure out the best ones for oil extraction, special tools are used to drill the trunk.
