Ammonium polyphosphate flame retardant with an improved sustainability profile for intumescent coatings and insulation materials: Exolit™ AP 422 A
Introducing Exolit AP 422 A, our next-generation ammonium polyphosphate with an improved sustainability profile. It is SVHC-free according to Article 31 of the REACH Regulation as it contains less than 0.1% melamine. This highly effective and halogen-free flame retardant offers exceptional fire protection and meets stringent fire safety standards. Exolit AP 422 A is suitable for a wide range of applications including intumescent coatings, fire stop sealing systems, thermoset composites for E-mobility used for battery housings and battery housing coatings, rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation foams, and more. In polyurethane foams, it serves as a suitable replacement for TCPP (Tris(chloropropyl) phosphate) providing flame retardancy without plasticizing effects.
With tightening regulations and melamine being classified as a Substance of Very High Concern (SVHC) under EU REACH, we continue to meet the demands of modern industries by offering manufacturers more sustainable solutions, providing the same exceptional performance.
