TOKYO, May 14, 2025 - Clariant will take part in the CITE Japan exhibition to be held in May 2025 with the brand new “Clariant Beauty” positioning that will see the global leading personal care ingredient supplier feature its unique innovations alongside those from the newly-acquired Lucas Meyer Cosmetics known for its high-value active ingredients. The combined strengths of offerings promise to spark innovation through collaboration, while helping to solve formulation challenges creatively thus delivering enlivened products with high performance and sustainability incorporated.

“With Lucas Meyer Cosmetics now becoming part of Clariant, we’re confident that together we can spark even stronger synergized innovation. This new comprehensive portfolio of Clariant Beauty is designed in response to emerging consumer trends by translating insights into innovation for greater chemistry and solving customer challenges. At CITE Japan we want to highlight how our multiple innovations address key market trends while delivering on our promise of high performance and sustainability of our ingredients,” explains Vipul Bhatt, Head of Personal & Home Care, APAC, Clariant Care Chemicals.

One of the featured products from Clariant at CITE Japan is the Eclipsogen™ CAP series UV Filter produced via Clariant’s patented Nanocon technology. With homogenously sized and well-dispersed particles, Eclipsogen CAP helps achieve a high SPF value in sun care products even at low concentrations in formulations. Being cold processable, it is easy to formulate and readily compatible with sunscreen ingredients to enable light skin sensory with no white cast.

Also featured at the show are the sustainable Velsan™ SC, a multifunctional preservation booster and the versatile emulsifier Hostacerin™ CCT. In addition to being non-sensitizing and non-irritating, the Velsan SC preservative booster effectively elevates efficacy of other preservatives in a synergistic way, therefore lifting the effectiveness of the entire formulation. Hostacerin CCT, on the other hand, is an easy-to-use emulsifier with a wide application area with cold mixing, enabling the creation of stable low viscosity skincare and wet wipes.

For ingredients dedicated to hair care, Clariant will feature Genadvance™ - a series of hair conditioning ingredients targeting different hair issues. The range has been developed to overcome constraints of conventional quats and allow formulators to access more product options and claims. Its suitability for both rinse-off and leave-on formulations make it extremely versatile for all hair care product formats.

Among products featured at CITE under Lucas Meyer Cosmetics by Clariant are the active ingredients of GlowCytocin™ and Melicica™. Derived from white Hyacinth bulbs with a 99.6% natural origin index, GlowCytocin is an innovative ingredient known to harness the benefits associated with the feeling of being in love through enhanced skin luminosity and improved receptivity to pleasant touch. Melicica, on the other hand, is a completely natural ingredient derived from Australian Jelly Bush honey. It accelerates and optimizes the skin’s natural repair process to efficiently improve appearance of scars and damaged skin across all ages and skin tones.

Based on Lucas Meyer Cosmetics’ breakthrough patented quinoa starch technology is the multi-award winning Pickmulse™ emulsifier that will also be under the spotlight at the Clariant booth. This next-generation 2-in-1 surfactant-free emulsifier enhances the sensory attributes of formulations, while allowing for customizable encapsulation systems. It creates a soft, powdery finish and has been clinically proven to stimulate brain areas linked to well-being and positive tactile sensations, while also encapsulating lipophilic ingredients to protect actives or enhance the sensory benefits of emollient.

Another featured product from Lucas Meyer Cosmetics is the patented food supplement PhytoflORAL™ that leverages super fruit power for brighter and healthier glowing skin. Derived from a natural beauty dietary ingredient from tomato, rich in rare, UV-absorbing, colorless carotenoids (phytoene and phytofluene), PhytoflORAL optimized skin protection against damage induced by internal free radicals, making the skin appear more radiant, lighter and youthful.
