Hordaphos 222 is a mono- and diester of phosphoric acid based on long chain alkyl polyethylene glycols. It is used as an EP (extreme pressure) / AW (anti-wear) additive in mineral oils, where it increases lubrication and EP properties. It is also described as an additive for liquid detergents and dry cleaning, with strong dispersing and emulsifying properties, antistatic and softening effects, and suitability for aluminum treatment.
