Wetting and dispersing agents

  • Dispersogen AN 200
    Dispersogen AN 200 is a surfactant-based dispersing agent for water-based and solvent-based pigment preparations, suitable for inorganic and organic pigments as well as for specialty carbon blacks. The product is especially recommended for use in point-of-sales colorants and concentrates for in-plant tinting. The general dosage recommendation is 10-50 % on organic pigments and 5-20% on inorganic pigments. Dispersogen AN 200 also acts as wetting agent/compatibilizer in waterborne high PVC paints as well as in waterborne and solvent-borne low PVC lacquers. The general dosage (supply form) is 0.6-1.9% in emulsion paints, 1.5-1.9% in acrylic lacquers and 1.3-1.9% in alkyd lacquers.

  • Dispersogen SPS
    Dispersogen SPS is a low viscous, cationic stabilizer for mineral paints containing potassium water glass, such as silicate and organosilicate paints. The product reduces the increase in viscosity during storage and helps to improve the rheological profile of the paint. The recommended dosage is 0.5 – 1.5% in the paint formulation. Dispersogen SPS is APEO-free and suitable for ecolabel certified paints. It can be used as stand-alone stabilizer or in combination with Dispersogen SPG/Dispersogen SPV.

  • Emulsogen LCN 158
    Emulsogen LCN 158 is used as a nonionic emulsifier for emulsion polymerization improving the shear, temperature and electrolyte stability of polymer dispersions. The recommended usage is 2% active based on monomers. In waterborne and solvent-borne lacquers (low PVC), Emulsogen LCN 158 can be used as a compatibilizer to improve tinting strength and to reduce rub-out, water absorption, and haze effects. Dosage recommendation (supply form) in waterborne acrylic lacquers is 1.3-1.9% and in solvent-borne alkyd lacquers 0.33-0.66%.When used during the premixing phase in the production of waterborne emulsion paints (high PVC), Emulsogen LCN 158 also acts as a processing aid and helps to reduce the grinding time by faster deagglomeration of TiO2 and fillers. This is especially of interest in areas of hard water. The general dosage recommendation (supply form) for this purpose is 0.3%.

The product is recommended for use in point-of-sales colorants and concentrates for in-plant tinting. Dispersogen LFS can be used as a stand-alone dispersing agent for organic pigments. For inorganic pigment, it is used in combination with a nonionic dispersing agent such as Dispersogen MT 200. The general dosage recommendation is 5-25% on organic pigments and 4-10% on inorganic pigments.Dispersogen LFS also acts as wetting agent/compatibilizer in waterborne high PVC paints as well as in waterborne and solvent-borne low PVC lacquers. The general dosage (supply form) is 1.0-1.5% in emulsion paints, 1.0-1.5% in acrylic lacquers and 0.5-1.0% in alkyd lacquers.

  • Polyglykol 200 LVC
    Polyglykol 200 LVC is a very low-VOC humectant for water-borne pigment preparations with little impact on wet scrub resistance. Polyglykol 200 LVC retards the drying of pigment pastes and forms a soluble film of the pigment preparation. Polyglykol 200 LVC prevents the clogging of the nozzles of tinting systems and metering machines.

The general dosage recommendation is 5-30% on organic pigments and 20-40% on carbon black.Furthermore, Emulsogen TS 200 acts as a nonionic emulsifier for the emulsion polymerization of monomers like acrylates, styrene-acrylates, and vinyl acetate.
