SYPOX, founded in 2021 as a startup originating from the Technical University of Munich and initially funded by the German Ministry of Economy, has developed an innovative solution to decarbonize the energy needs of chemical production through the electrification of traditional processes such as steam methane reforming (SMR). To optimize and scale-up the high-performance catalysts required for this novel approach, SYPOX engaged Clariant as a well-known supplier of reforming catalysts and custom catalyst manufacturing solutions.
