Clariant promotes sustainability-focused catalysts at Nitrogen+Syngas 2013

  • Nitrogen+Syngas 2013, March 5-8, Berlin, Germany
  • Sustainability-focused value creation for customers’ operations
  • Innovative portfolio acquired with Süd-Chemie

Munich, March 5, 2013 – Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, will present its efficiency-driving catalysts for synthesis gas processes and the production of major base chemicals at the leading international technical conference Nitrogen + Syngas 2013.

Delegates representing manufacturers, licensors and service providers from the Ammonia and SynGas industries will hear the latest on ReforMax®, ShiftMax®, and AmoMax® catalysts from Clariant. These high performance catalysts are designed to support the efficient use of raw materials and energy in the production of industrial chemicals such as ammonia, methanol, hydrogen, and alternative fuels.

Clariant’s presentation will discuss the basic principles in catalytic reactor operation that enable full utilization and maximum efficiency in ammonia plant operations, including performance data from commercial units. The paper entitled “Back-to-Basics: Maximizing plant performance through a better understanding of the basics in catalytic reactor operation and problem avoidance” will be presented on Friday, March 8, 2013. Featured catalysts will include Clariant’s high activity ReforMax and ShiftMax catalysts, which are technology leaders in the industry.

“Progress in synthesis gas processes is being largely driven by the demand from emerging markets, such as China,” comments Taylor Archer, Head of Global Product Management & Sales Ammonia at Clariant. “With our innovative portfolio of catalysts and on-going commitment to create value for our customers’ operations, Clariant will continue to support the increasing emphasis on sustainability in industrial processes.”
