The Clariant exhibit will showcase how the diverse portfolio of standard and custom color and additive formulations offered by Clariant Masterbatches have helped OEMs and converters add color and functionality to plastics, accelerating product design and development and building brand power in diverse markets. Clariant has four ColorWorks technology and design centers around the world, offering one-on-one consulting and concept evaluation, simulation of colors and special effects, color creation and color trending expertise. Clariant globally completes more than 80,000 color matches each year.
Clariant has enhanced product development with the opening in 2015 of a rotational molding laboratory and prototype-development cell at the Clariant Canada facility in Toronto. The rotational molding lab replicates actual production conditions at leading rotational molders, providing customers with prototypes of color-matched, multi-textured products in just five to seven days.
The Clariant exhibit also will feature AddWorks, tailored formulations designed to provide improved productivity and significant energy savings, stability and durability of converted parts, in addition to protection of manufactured articles during their process and end use.
Also featured at NPE 2015 will be advancements in Clariant's Liquid Vehicle Technology allowing for higher pigment loadings and lower usage rates compared to the typical solid colorant.
Part of the booth focus will be Clariant's high performance integrated liquid Masterbatches, called HiFormer®, which allows for wider use of liquid color and additive concentrates and enables processing efficiencies that deliver high productivity at a low total cost. Clariant can custom tailor carrier technology to suite various applications. Together with equipment partners, Clariant now offers a sleek integrated line of metering, dosing and handling systems. HiFormer enables fast and simple color changes, maximum flexibility, and high reproducibility of the defined color.
Clariant provides light-fast and durable colors; sustainable ï¬re protection; and foaming agents for lightweight plastics for interior and exterior applications. EXOLIT protects against ï¬re risk posed by frequent and growing use of plastic parts, and offers improvements in weather and lightfastness. MONTAN WAXES provide improvements in processing and end-product properties. Clariant offers a large number of OEM-approved colors and supplies additives for light-weighting of automotive parts, helping in the reduction of automotive emissions.
Clariant works with customers to support regulatory compliance and risk control, and sustainability goals. In the healthcare segment, the company maintains multiple ISO certifications, offers a USP class 6 product line, and provides regulatory expertise in support of OEMs and converters.
In 2014, Clariant announced it was making its products available in UL's Materials Search Engine, Prospector® (ULProspector.com), the largest and most widely used informational resource in the plastics industry. UL 94 Certified Renol® and Remafin® Masterbatches are an attractive alternative for manufacturers of plastic products that have to comply with specified flammability ratings. They also meet other global regulatory requirements like RoHS, WEEE, REACH and CE, and they contain only pigments that are free of heavy metals like cadmium and lead.
