New and Emerging Chemical Technologies to be Presented by Clariant at the 2015 SPE ISOC

Houston, TX, April 9, 2015 – Clariant, a world leader in Specialty Chemicals, today announced that their Oil Services business will exhibit at and make significant technical contributions at the 2015 SPE International Symposium on Oilfield Chemistry. With emphasis on new and emerging chemical technologies and design for their application, the Symposium will be held at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center in The Woodlands, Texas, April 13-15, 2015.

During the first morning session on Monday, April 13, Clariant Oil Services' Global Head of Oil Services Innovation, Dr. Jonathan J. Wylde, will discuss the paper, "Iron Sulfide Inhibition: Field Application of an Innovative Polymeric Chemical." The presentation will be held in the Montgomery Ballroom at 11:30 a.m. during the Inorganic Scales I session. Dr. Wylde will also Co-Chair the afternoon's Inorganic Scales II session and participate in Wednesday morning's Water Treatment and Management session on "Investigation of Microorganisms in a West Texas Oilfield, Using Growth and Genetic Testing."

On Tuesday afternoon, April 14, Clariant Oil Services will take part in the Hydraulic Fracturing, Acidizing Fluid Chemistry and Additives II session. Dr. Amir Mahmoudkhani, Head of Stimulation – Global Innovation for Clariant Oil Services, will present, "Microemulsions as Flowback Aids for Enhanced Oil and Gas Recovery after Fracturing. Myth or Reality: a Turnkey Study to Determine the Features and Benefits," at 3:30 p.m. in rooms Waterway 6-8.

Clariant Oil Services' Senior Integrity Management Chemist, Dr. Omar Yepez, will present the paper titled, "Development of Novel Phosphate Based Inhibitors Effective for Oxygen Corrosion," during the New Chemical Technologies and Applications session held Wednesday, April 15, at 11:30 a.m. in the Montgomery Ballroom. Additionally, the ePoster, "Development and Application of a State-of-the-Art Fully Synthetic Single Filtration Control Additive, Providing Optimum Rheology in WBM: An Innovation for the Medium Temperature Drilling Market," by Dr. Christoph Kayser, Clariant Oil Services' Senior Scientist, will be presented on Monday, April 13, at 3:15 p.m. at Station 1.

Clariant Oil Services will exhibit in booth #17. Attendees are invited to visit with Clariant representatives to learn how the company's innovations will add value to their operations.
