Clariant is awarded Outstanding Supplier of 2017 by Anglo American

São Paulo, February 8, 2018 – Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, was recognized as Outstanding Supplier of 2017 by Anglo American, a key global customer. The company also placed 1st in the Optimization and the Strategic Alignment categories.

Carlos Tooge, Vice President of Business Unit Oil & Mining Services for Clariant Latin America, said: "We're very happy to receive this special recognition confirming the quality of our mining products and services, especially the innovative developments at our Belo Horizonte Research Center. This award also highlights our focus on sustainability, particularly our social responsibility initiatives."

Among the Clariant products used by Anglo American, FLOTIGAM 7500 is a new collector agent surpassing existing technologies that delivers industry leading cost-benefit ratios when concentrating iron ore within the market specifications.

In partnership with Anglo American, the Minas Gerais State Industry Federation and the Industry Social Service, Clariant leads the Sports Schools Project which involves more than 140 students from a public school located in the city of Itapanhoacanga, Minas Gerais.

The award is given by Anglo American to strategic and tactical suppliers involved in the production of iron ore in Brazil. The evaluation takes into consideration the company's technical and operational performance, compliance with safety and environmental performance indicators, as well as social activities carried out in communities in which Anglo American has operations.
