Water Solubility Assessment for EU Microplastics Restriction *DAkkS-accredited testing methods
- Quantitative determination of water solubility of synthetic polymer particles and compliance assessment against the EU microplastics restriction (Regulation (EU) 2023/2055), introduced via REACH Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex XVII (Entry 78)
- Testing in accordance with OECD Guideline 120
- Under defined conditions (20 °C, pH 7, 10 g/L, 24 h), water solubility is determined quantitatively using TOC analysis and gravimetry
- Conformity assessment taking into account measurement uncertainty to evaluate whether the tested polymer meets the REACH water solubility criterion (> 2 g/L)
- Supports customers in determining whether their polymer products are subject to regulatory restrictions
*The testing methods applied for this service are accredited by DAkkS in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 (Accreditation No. D-PL-14511-02-01).
