Notably, Clariant received this recognition despite not being a direct supplier, highlighting the strategic importance of Clariant’s innovative flame retardant technologies in Schneider’s upstream value chain.

The company won “Best Catalyst Technology” for its chromium-free HySat catalyst platform for hydrogenation processes and shared the “Best Petrochemical Technology” prize with its partner Linde for their jointly developed EDHOX Technology. Moreover, Clariant was selected as a finalist for its StyroMax UL-100 catalysts and VIVAZ services in the categories “Best Catalyst Technology” and “Best Health, Safety or Environmental Contribution (Upstream),” respectively. The award ceremony was held at a gala event on October 16, 2025, in Houston, Texas.
Clariant, a sustainability-focused specialty chemical company, today announced that it has signed a 10-year agreement with SECCO Petrochemicals to provide CLARITY Prime digital services. The new customer will use the AI-powered catalyst performance monitoring platform to enhance production efficiency at its 900-KTA ethylene plant in Shanghai, Jinshan District. CLARITY Prime was previously only available to customers of Clariant’s ammonia, methanol, and hydrogen catalysts. The service was recently extended to also include ethylene producers. CLARITY and CLARITY Prime services are developed with Navigance, a Clariant digital solutions company.
Clariant, a sustainability-focused specialty chemical company, today announced its collaboration in Repsol’s pioneering methanol plant in El Morell near Tarragona, Spain. The Ecoplanta project will be the first of its kind in Europe to convert municipal waste into renewable methanol. The facility will operate using Enerkem’s advanced waste gasification process, supported by a range of Clariant’s syngas purification catalysts and its highly active MegaMax methanol synthesis catalysts. Scheduled for completion in 2029, the plant will use 400,000 tons of non-recyclable solid municipal waste annually to produce 240,000 tons of methanol.

The new initiative, which is subject to customary approval from relevant authorities, aims to create next-generation phosphorus-based flame retardants to serve several industries like building and construction, automotive, electric and electronic, directly addressing the tightening technical and regulatory environment in these sectors.
