Clariant Mining Announces New Head for Europe Africa and the Middle East

• Thomas Roy brings more than 12 years of experience to his new role
• Roy will be based in Frankfurt, Germany and will report directly to Finlay Morrison, Vice President of Clariant Mining

Houston, March 5, 2013 - Clariant today announced the appointment of Thomas Roy as head of the Mining business line in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, effective February 1, 2013. Roy brings more than 12 years of industry experience to his new role at Clariant.

Before joining Clariant, Roy had a senior management role at specialty chemical company EKOF, focused specifically on the coal industry. He has also held positions at Fluoron GmbH and at the University of Cologne.

Roy holds a Doctorate in Chemistry from the University of Hagen and a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Cologne. He will be located at Clariant's office in the Industriepark in Frankfurt-Höchst, Germany.
