In 2025, Clariant is proud to celebrate a significant milestone: 50 years of Exolit AP flame retardants protecting lives and property around the world. Based on advanced ammonium polyphosphate (APP) technology, these pioneering flame retardants have become the industry benchmark in a wide range of applications, including intumescent coatings, fire barrier sealing systems, thermoset composites for e-mobility battery housings and coatings, rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation foams and more. As Clariant marks this golden anniversary, it is not just celebrating past achievements but actively shaping the future of fire protection.

Clariant completes its CHF 100 million investment in the Daya Bay facility, with the second production line fully operational in November. This expanded capacity strengthens Clariant's ability to meet growing demand for more sustainable flame-retardant solutions in Asia and globally, particularly in the rapidly expanding e-mobility sector.

Clariant today announced the successful placement of EUR 500 million in unsecured Eurobonds issued by its subsidiary Clariant International Financial Services (Luxembourg) S.à.r.l. and guaranteed by Clariant AG.

Clariant has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for its bio-based Licocare RBW wax additives for use in rigid polyvinyl chloride (PVC) food-contact applications. The authorization, effective May 7, 2026, extends the company's existing FDA approval beyond polyester materials to include rigid PVC.

Clariant, a sustainability-focused specialty chemical company, today announced the successful operation of its FAMAX formaldehyde catalysts at two world-scale production facilities operated by Yihua Group in China. The advanced catalyst technology, integrated with process technology from engineering partner Wuxi Xiyuan Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., is delivering exceptional performance at both the major 100 kt/a formaldehyde plant in Inner Mongolia and the 120 kt/a formaldehyde plant in Hubei province.
