It is a low-foaming surfactant with good wetting and dispersing action, used in various industrial applications including detergents, emulsion polymerization, pigment preparations, silicone emulsions, and construction products. It improves latex stability, pigment wetting, and acts as an emulsifier and plasticizer in different formulations.

Genapol X 150 is used as nonionic emulsifier for the emulsion polymerization of monomers like acrylates, styrene-acrylates and vinyl acetate.

Dosage recommendation (supply form) in waterborne acrylic lacquers is 1.3-1.9% and in solvent-borne alkyd lacquers 0.33-0.66%.When used during the premixing phase in the production of waterborne emulsion paints (high PVC), Emulsogen LCN 158 also acts as a processing aid and helps to reduce the grinding time by faster deagglomeration of TiO2 and fillers. This is especially of interest in areas of hard water. The general dosage recommendation (supply form) for this purpose is 0.3%.

It is also used as a reactant for chemical synthesis of polyesters and polyurethanes.

Renewable polymer/wax compound suitable for both water and solvent based coatings and inks. Ceridust 8330 is a revolutionary, predominantly bio-based additive for all kind of printing inks with a mean particle size diameter of approximately 5.5 μm. Its mix of flexible yet tough polymeric characteristics makes it a powerful rub resistance additive for all types of ink systems. It is easy dispersible in water and solvent-based system with superior rub resistance properties versus conventional wax-based products. The outstanding rub resistance of Ceridust 8330 can even enable the substitution or reduction of PTFE in ink and coating systems. By this differentiated biopolymer-based micronized wax, wax dosage reduction of 30 % – 50 % is possible in gravure and flexographic inks to achieve the same rub resistance performance.

The nature of that Ceridust creates a smooth and soft touch surface that feels like untreated wood, thus offering the pleasant wooden touch without compromising on the protection of a coating. Licowax PED 191 powder is an oxidized, high density polyethylene wax with high molecular weight.

Hordaphos 222 is a clear, colourless to yellowish liquid with an ester-like odour. It has reacts acidic and can be neutralized with organic and inorganic bases. Hordaphos 222 is emulsifiable in water and soluble in common organic solvents. Hordaphos 222 is miscible with naphthenic and paraffinic mineral oils and with commercial vegetable and animal oils. Micronized blend of amide and polypropylene wax for solvent and water based coatings, powder coatings, and inks. Ceridust 6721 creates an excellent matting effect, scratch resistance, slip properties, and good anti-blocking properties for liquid coatings and inks. In powder coatings, it acts as a degassing agent, reduces gloss of cured powder coatings and enhances scratch resistance.

Clariant’s Exolit OP 560 is a flame retardant specifically designed for flexible polyurethane foams. Red Phosphorus HB 600 is a stabilized and microencapsulatedgrade of red phosphorus, delivered as a wet filter cake with 9-25% moisture (mean value for all drums of one delivery max. 20% moisture). It has a good oxidation and thermal stability. Red Phosphorus HB 600 is a brownish-red powder that is insoluble in water and organic solvents.

Ceridust 3715 delivers excellent matting effect, slip property, pleasant touch feel and good clarity for wood coatings. It is an excellent rub and scratch resistance additive for all kind of printing inks.

Micronized amide wax for solvent and water-based coatings, powder coatings, and printing inks. It can also be used in plastic application as dispersion and lubricating agent.For liquid coatings and inks, Ceridust 3910 offers excellent anti-blocking and slip properties, water repellency effect, and enhances scratch resistance, with minimal impact of transparency. This can be used in can coating application as meat releasing agent. In powder coatings, Ceridust 3910 acts as an effective degassing agent and is suitable for post-blending. It also demonstrates excellent dispersion and lubricating properties in plastic application.

Polyphosphoric acids are odourless, high viscousity liquids with strong hygroscopic properties. Phosphoric acids with < 95% H3PO4 (68% P2O5) contain the simple orthophosphoric acid. At higher concentrations the acid consists of a mixture of ortho, pyro, tri, tetra and highly condensed phosphoric acids. For this reason acids with a concentration > 68% P2O5 are commonly known as polyphosphoric acids. Polyphosphoric acids are miscible with water, hydrolysing to orthophosphoric acid with the generation of heat. They are insoluble in hydrocarbons and halogenated hydrocarbons.

Micronized polyethylene wax which is recommended for solvent based coatings and inks as well as for powder coating application. Ceridust 3620 is also a fine particle dispersing agent recommended for polyolefin, like LLDPE, LDPE, MDPE, HDPE. Ceridust 3620 is an excellent rub and scratch resistance additive for all kind of printing inks. It can be used as an additive for powder coatings to increase the output during extrusion process, to improve the flowability of the powder, and to enhance slip properties and scratch resistance. As dispersing agent in polyolefins matrices, Ceridust 3620 enhances and stabilizes pigment dispersion, prevent re-agglomeration, and improves color strength.

Phosphorus pentoxide is a white, microcrystalline, light weight powder which is produced by the combustion of elemental phosphorus in an excess of oxygen. Phosphorus pentoxide is the anhydride of orthophosphoric acid, H3PO4. It is very hygroscopic and is converted by water to H3PO4 via intermediates. The reaction with water is very vigorous and proceeds with the evolution of a large amount of heat. Due to its highly hygroscopic and microcrystalline character, the capability of flowing of P2O5 may vary in a certain range. Furthermore, the formation of soft agglomerates, which come apart under slight pressure, is not preventable.

Micronized high density polyethylene wax recommended for solvent and water based coatings and inks. Ceridust 3610 is a finely micronized additive made from metallocene based high density polyethylene wax. It generates excellent rub resistance in various kinds of printing inks and lower the coefficient of friction for high slip effect. With a D50 of 5 µm, the very fine particles keep a high gloss level and good clarity of the printed sheet and prevent pilling on rubber blankets. Used in coatings, like e.g. for packaging applications, Ceridust 3610 creates excellent scratch resistance, slip effect and protection of the finished good. A balance of properties and performance makes Ceridust 3610 a good option for the substitution or reduction of PTFE in ink and coating systems.

Exolit OP 1312 is a non-halogenated flame retardant based on organic phosphinates. The product achieves its flame retardant effect through intumescence. The thermoplastic polymer with Exolit OP 1312 foams and crosslinks on exposure to flame and forms a stable char at the surface acting as a barrier. The protective layer provides a heat-insulating effect, reduces oxygen access and prevents dripping of molten polymer. Exolit AP 462 is a product based on ammonium polyphosphate. The crystal modification is phase II. It is manufactured from ammonium polyphosphate by micro-encapsulation with melamine resin according to Clariant’s own method. Therefore the fine white powder of Exolit AP 462 shows a very low solubility in water, even at elevated temperatures, compared to Exolit AP 422. Exolit AP 462 is completely insoluble in organic solvents. The product is non-hygroscopic and non-flammable.

Exolit AP 422 is a fine-particle ammonium polyphosphate (phase II) produced by a special method. The product is largely insoluble in water and completely insoluble in organic solvents. It is colorless, non-hygroscopic and non-flammable.

Exolit OP 1240 is a flame retardant based on an organic aluminum phosphinate which is a thermally stable white solid without any hazard classification or labeling. It can be easily compounded into polyesters and subsequently processed again to manufacture flame retarded parts used in consumer or industrial products. Exolit AP 420 is an approx. 45 % clear to cloudy aqueous solution of a short-chain ammonium polyphosphate.

Exolit OP 1230 is a white, fine-grained powder based on an organic phosphinate. The product is non-hygroscopic and it is insoluble in water and organic solvents. Clariant’s Exolit OP flame retardants for polyamides are all based on aluminum diethyl-phosphinate (= DEPAL). The pure substance DEPAL is sold as Exolit OP 1230 and in combination with synergists as Exolit OP 13xx types. Exolit AP 742 is a non-halogenated, additive flame retardant based on ammonium polyphosphate, which develops its effectiveness through a phosphorus/nitrogen synergism. Exolit AP 742 differs in its mode of action from other flame retardant technologies (e.g. chlorine- or bromine-containing flame retardants and minerals) by achieving its effect through intumescence and shows a reduced viscosity in unsaturated polyester resins. The flame retarded material foams on exposure to flame. The carbon foam layer so formed protects the polymer by its heat-insulating effect and reduces further oxygen access.
