Clariant showcases safe and environmental friendly products at Neo Functional Material 2018

Tokyo, February 13, 2018 – Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, will take part in the Neo Functional Material 2018 exhibition to be held on February 14-16 at Tokyo Big Sight, Japan. At the exhibition dedicated to showcasing the latest advances made in functional materials, Clariant will feature its products with a strong safety and environmental friendly profile, as well as proven sustainability advantages. These include JMAC, Genamin Gluco 50, high molecular weight PEGs and wetting and dispersing agents for food packaging.

At Neo Functional Material 2018 Clariant will highlight how it contributes to various aspects in modern living through the physical mock-up of a house at its booth. Clariant's innovations and technologies such as raw material of adhesive for wallpaper, wetting dispersing agents used in food packaging, and various additives like neutralizing agents for coatings on external wall will be displayed on the spot.

Among the featured products at Neo Functional Material 2018 is JMAC, which is a silver-technology based preservative, it's antimicrobial properties that reduces the spread of bacteria over the long term. Paint and coatings manufacturers benefit from easy and economical formulation. The JMAC biocides are effective at very small ppm addition levels and offer low viscosity liquid dispersion. Safe handling is assured through the non-flammability, non-corrosive nature of JMAC.
Another featured product is the Genamin Gluco 50, Clariant's latest innovation for the paint industry. Based on renewables, the VOC/SVOC-free multifunctional additive is without any hazard labeling, making it the ideal ingredient for ecolabel certified paints. Genamin Gluco 50 enhances the performance and quality profile of paint formulation based on its storage and freeze-thaw stability, as well as compatibility with pigments.
Also showcased at Neo Functional Material 2018 will be Clariant's High Molecular Weight PEGs for the polymer industry. Its unique property of having a narrow molecular weight distribution results in less sensitization in sanitary products. In addition, wetting and dispersing agents for food packaging from Clariant, which are classified as approved emulsifiers and W.D.A. for food contact packaging will also be exhibited during the show.
During the three-day exhibition of Neo Functional Material on February 14-16, Clariant will exhibit its products and innovations at booth no. 2B 04 at the Tokyo Big Sight East Exhibition Hall, where Clariant's teams of technical and customer service experts will be on hand to present their products and answer questions from visitors.
