Munich, April 22, 2021 – Clariant has cemented its on-going collaboration with the World Foundry Organization to support the environmental efforts of metal foundries. As a Lifetime Legacy Sponsor for the seventh consecutive year, Clariant works with the WFO to drive knowledge to help reduce carbon emissions and meet the productivity challenges and sustainability expectations of customer industries.

WFO General Secretary Andrew Turner, said: “The contribution from Clariant and our other lifetime legacy sponsors allows us to strategically develop and plan our future conferences and reports to stay ahead of the knowledge curve and present this technology and innovation at major global gatherings, as well as in the Global Foundry Report.”

Lorenzo Sechi, Head of Business Group Foundry and Functional Additives, EMEA, Clariant comments: “Collaboration has always been at the heart of our approach in helping foundries adapt green sand casting to their current and future needs. Clariant’s latest technology for green sand casting - Low Emission+ Technology (LE+ Technology) - has achieved exceptional results in European foundries in significantly decreasing their BTEX emissions, delivering high-surface-quality castings, and lowering total cost of ownership (TCO) through less clay and additive consumption and waste generation. All from a sustainably mined solution. Clariant’s experts continue to share data, research and technical support to advance green sand systems around the world which produce metal castings for vehicles, infrastructure and construction applications.

The World Foundry Organization is the recognized center of strategic foundry knowledge, designed to develop, enhance and improve the production of metal castings; through the latest technical and sustainable industry practices. The next congress is currently planned to be held, subject to then applicable restrictions, in October 2022 in Busan, Korea. The WFO has just published the 2020 Global Foundry Report, which can be accessed through the international member associations.
