Growing domestic demand driven by development of key industries in Indonesia, such as automotive and engineering, has led to the rapid growth of the domestic foundries in recent years. Indonesia is anticipated to soon become the number one foundry market in the whole of South East Asia. As the foundry market continues to develop, so does the demand for corresponding materials such as Bentonite which plays a key role in the casting process.

GEKO® - global quality Bentonite at affordable cost for local foundries At IndoMetal 2014, Clariant will feature its Geko series, an approved product line which is valued for its high quality and efficiency.
GEKO SUPER, is a Bentonite that brings high efficiency and good cost savings to the casting formula. With high flow ability and excellent shakeout ability, the highly efficient GEKO SUPER is readily mixed in the mixer, which allows for quick development of greensand strength up to 10-20% faster than usual, thus reducing mixing time. The excellent shakeout ability of GEKO SUPER provides further cost savings by lowering energy consumption by up to 10%.
Also featured at IndoMetal 2014 is GEKO OPTIMUM, which provides hybrid quality bentonite for high quality casting. It combines the advantages of natural Sodium Bentonite with activated Calcium Bentonite. GEKO OPTIMUM offers easy water management and excellent thermal durability which make it the preferred choice for high temperature casting. Being produced domestically at the plants in Indonesia ensures stable deliveries of GEKO to Clariant customers in Indonesia, who enjoy a flexible delivery system to meet individual needs such as silo truck delivery. In addition, the GEKO series has achieved product consistency through a state-of-the-art quality control system that includes periodic greensand properties testing and production failure analysis.
