Catalytic oxidation has been acknowledged as the most effective method to reduce VOC emissions. Catalytic incineration with EnviCat VOC catalyst series allows the oxidation process to proceed at a lower temperature, which reduces operating cost and stress on equipment. These include the oxidation of CO and hydrocarbons including formaldehyde, aldehydes, PAKs, NMHCs, VOCs, TOCs into CO2 and water in lean burn applications.

The emerging role of catalysts in emissions control

Nitrous oxide, the third-most-emitted greenhouse gas is about 300 times as potent as carbon dioxide at heating the atmosphere [1]. Itspends an average of 114 years in the sky before disintegrating and depletes the ozone layer. When exposed to sunlight andoxygen, nitrous oxide converts into nitrogen oxides that damage the ozone layer, ultimately causing the biggest threat to the earth’sUV protection [2].

Annually, the global nitric acid production emits N2O equivalent to the CO2 emissions of 21 million cars
